Query Language

The text search engine allows queries to be formed from arbitrary Boolean expressions containing the keywords AND, OR, and NOT, and grouped with parentheses. For example:

tables chairs

finds web pages containing 'tables' or 'chairs'

tables or chairs

same as above

tables and chairs

finds web pages containing both 'tables' and 'chairs'

tables not chairs

finds web pages containing 'tables' but not 'chairs'

(tables not chairs) and round

finds web pages containing 'round', plus 'tables' but not 'chairs'

tab*

finds web pages containing words starting with 'tab'
